The Sudbury YMCA's - John Island Outdoor Centre is an outdoor recreation and environmental education centre located in the North Channel of Lake Huron. YMCA John Island Camp Outdoor Centre runs programs throughout the Spring with a focus on school trips. Our traditional school trip runs 3 days/2 nights with students from grade 5-12 in attendance.
Our unique 278 acre site boasts numerous trails, tree lines and programs areas for exploration and use. Our 1.5 km beach front, along with numerous inlets, waterfronts and the infamous Lost Lake allow for shoreline and waterlogged habitat to be discovered. With a focus on delivering high quality program within a naturally gorgeous setting, John Island Camp truly is where students grow outside the classroom.
